Parachute Sprints
Sprints are a great way to increase your strength and conditioning. Add a parachute (speed chute) and now we’re talking about Elite training. Whether your a runner or just general fitness, this exercise strengthens the core and leg muscles and activates the fast twitch muscles.
The Fast twitch muscles are great for short bursts of speed critical in races like the 100 meter sprint. Middle to long distance runners will also find use for this exercise through the increased stamina/endurance, while maintaining strength and flexibility. These slow twitch muscles use oxygen efficiently so athletes perform better over longer periods of time.
The ‘chute’ provides progressive resistance. So the faster you run, the more it drags you back.
